Kiran Manandhar

Born in 1957 in Kathmandu, Kiran Manandhar is a celebrated Nepalese artist known for his mastery in painting and his significant contributions to the world of art. He completed his Master’s Degree in Fine Arts in Painting from Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi, India, in 1981. Throughout his artistic career, Manandhar has held nearly 200 solo exhibitions both in Nepal and internationally, in addition to participating in countless group shows and art activities around the globe. His exceptional talent and dedication to the arts have earned him numerous prestigious awards and accolades, both nationally and internationally.

Notably, he has also served as the Ex-Chancellor of the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts and achieved recognition in the Guinness Book of World Records for creating the longest painting in the shortest time.

Manandhar’s artistic style is characterized by a balance between spontaneous, confident lines and vibrant daubs of color.

His works often explore the unison between male and female figures, with his frequent theme being Radha and Krishna, iconic mythological characters in Hinduism. These works reflect his deep connection with cultural and spiritual themes, as well as his ability to bring them to life through a modern artistic lens. As a second-generation artist, Manandhar enjoys collaborating with younger artists, encouraging the exchange of ideas and staying current with contemporary trends in art.

His versatility, dedication, and innovative approach to painting have firmly established him as one of Nepal’s most prominent and respected artists.
