Jeevan Rajopadhyay

Born in 1960 in Kathmandu, he pursued his passion for art by completing a B.F.A. at Lalit Kala Campus, Tribhuvan University, and further refining his skills under the mentorship of the renowned Nepali artist Lain Singh Bangdel. His career has been marked by numerous achievements, including a solo exhibition at Grey Gallery Japan in 2010 and participation in many group exhibitions across the globe. Recognized for his outstanding contributions to the art world, he has been honored with various awards from respected organizations. His commitment to advancing Nepali art is further reflected in his active involvement with art institutions—serving as an Executive Member of the Nepal Art Council and as a Founding Member of the Society of Modern Art (SOMA).

As one of Nepal’s finest abstract painters from the second generation of modern artists, his work stands out for its harmonious use of color. His paintings evoke the sense of a river flowing effortlessly into a vast, calm ocean, a metaphor for his peaceful state of mind and composed artistic vision.

Each canvas is a personal reflection, where dynamic, fluid brushstrokes merge with bold hues to create a visual dialogue between movement and tranquility. His art not only captures aesthetic beauty but also invites viewers to explore deeper emotional and philosophical realms, making his work a lasting contribution to contemporary abstract art in Nepal.
