Nem Bahadur Tamang

Nem Bahadur Tamang is a celebrated contemporary abstract artist from Nepal, renowned for his deeply expressive and intuitive visual language. He holds a Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) degree in Creative Painting from Tribhuvan University. With a career rooted in artistic exploration, Tamang’s contributions to the field of abstract painting have earned him national and international recognition. Tamang’s spontaneous use of color, texture, and form breaks away from conventional techniques, resulting in artworks that feel raw, powerful, and emotionally resonant.
Nem Bahadur Tamang has participated in hundreds of exhibitions, residencies, and painting workshops both in Nepal and internationally. He was honored with the prestigious National Award of Fine Arts (2020) by the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) and the Amity Contemporary Award by Commercial Artists Society of Nepal. His work has been showcased in major art events, including the National Fine Arts Exhibition, where he also served as a jury member.
